The North West Department of Health is investigating if this photo was taken at Tlhabane Community Health Centre.
THE North West Department of Health has its hands full.
This comes after a photo that was apparently taken at the Tlhabane Community Health Centre in Rustenburg circulated on social media.
In the photo a woman, a drip in hand, is lying on a steel base with no mattress.
Another woman sits next to the bed as if she’s monitoring her.
Siyanda Maphalala posted the photo and said the poor were being treated like animals.

He says the facility was officially opened by Health MEC Dr Magome Masike in 2014 to address the challenge of access to healthcare.
“The disgusting and dangerous conditions in state-run hospitals show wilful negligence by the department of health, managed by the ANC.
“It’s well known that the department has been mismanaging state hospitals.
“South Africans are regularly misdiagnosed, ignored, left for days without treatment and receive horrific care. The results are sometimes catastrophic.”

He said neglect of hospitals was equal to criminal behaviour.
Health spokesman Tebogo Lekgethwane said he was aware of the photo.
“We’re currently investigating the matter, as well as the authenticity of the photo, as it is difficult to identify if the photo was taken at Tlhabane Community Health Centre,” he told Daily Sun.
